Come And Celebrate
On September 10

the order, founded by St. Francis of Assisi, first set foot on British soil at Dover.
These Franciscan friars brought with them a new way of living out the Gospel of Christ:
simplicity of living and service to the poor.
Their mission had a profound impact on medieval society...
influencing both spiritual life and social care.
This anniversary not only honours their historical contributions...
but also reflects on their enduring legacy in promoting peace, justice,
and compassion in communities across Britain
800 years later we retrace the first part of their mission…
a journey from Dover to Canterbury.
